OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

We believe that training should strengthen the bond between you and your dog, not damage it. That’s why Pawcific Dog Academy exclusively uses positive reinforcement-based training methods backed by modern behavioral science. We focus on rewarding desired behaviors rather than punishing unwanted ones, creating a learning environment where your dog is eager to participate and confident in their abilities.

Our approach recognizes that every dog is an individual with unique needs, learning styles, and motivations. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we adapt our techniques to work with your dog’s personality and your family’s lifestyle, ensuring the training fits seamlessly into your daily routine.

We teach you to understand why your dog behaves the way they do, so you can address the root cause of issues rather than just the symptoms. This creates lasting behavioral change that holds up in real-world situations, not just in the training facility.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What age should my dog be to join group classes? We welcome dogs as young as 10 weeks (after their first set of vaccinations) through senior dogs. We offer puppy-specific classes for dogs under 6 months and adult classes for older dogs to ensure age-appropriate instruction and socialization.

Does my dog need to be fully vaccinated? Yes, for the safety of all participants, we require proof of current vaccinations (rabies, distemper, and bordetella) before your dog’s first class.

What if my dog is reactive toward other dogs? We have experience working with reactive dogs and can assess whether group class is appropriate or if private training would be a better starting point. Contact us to discuss your dog’s specific needs.

How long are the classes? Each group session runs for one hour. Most of our programs consist of 6-8 weekly sessions, giving you and your dog time to practice and master new skills.

What should I bring to class? Bring plenty of small, soft training treats, a standard 6-foot leash (no retractable leashes), and your dog’s favorite toys. We’ll provide additional guidance specific to your class level when you enroll.

Can my whole family attend? Absolutely! We encourage family participation. However, we ask that one person be designated as the primary handler for consistency, while other family members observe and learn to support the training at home.

What if I miss a class? We understand life happens. Contact us before your missed session, and we’ll help you schedule a makeup class or provide you with the material covered so you don’t fall behind.

How much do group classes cost? Class pricing varies by program length and level. Contact us for current pricing and package options. We often offer discounts for multiple dogs from the same household.
